Nimesis designs and produces components, mechanisms and devices for the space domain. An expert in shape memory alloys, Nimesis is the preferred partner for European satellite launchers and their equipment manufacturers.
The company also covers other sectors (aeronautics, medical, nuclear, nuclear, watchmaking...) by offering various intelligent devices (thermal safety or even precision tools).
Quality and customer satisfaction are at the heart of its processes: ISO9001 and EN9100 certifications.
Operational challenges
Historically, technical data was managed on local servers (CAD, thermal and mechanical calculations, simulations, test reports...). With the growth of the company, the number of references and the complexity of the products (nomenclature, variants, etc.), several limitations have emerged:

→ Waste of time in researching and sharing data between teams and with partners (suppliers, customers...)
→ Errors in the management of applicable indices followed by excel macros
→ Manual and time-consuming procedures for validating and signing documents
A lack of traceability and difficulties in managing product configurations and variability
→ Solidworks nomenclature exports and manual imports into the Dynamics NAV ERP
→ Complex configuration management with data storage on the local server and management of use cases via excel macros

Setting up Aletiq
The deployment of Aletiq was very natural and fast. The first users were trained and the solution put into production in the first week of the project. This new solution, very intuitive and appreciated, quickly aroused enthusiasm among all operational teams: Design Office, Industrialization, Production, Quality, Quality, Purchasing and Commerce.
In just 2 weeks of support, the 20 users took charge of the solution:
→ Define the target model with the teams
→ Migration of all historical data
→ Customized on-site user training
The adoption of teams
The choice of the Aletiq Product Platform allowed Nimesis to quickly respond to its operational challenges.
Thanks to the Aletiq x Solidworks plugin, the designers of the Design Office centralized their CAD models and optimized their operating modes. They now benefit from a single source of truth for their data, simply search for models, launch automated validation circuits (electronic signature), synchronize schedules in real time and can even edit models with several people simultaneously.
The Quality team manages the QMS - Quality Management System and processes (non-conformities...) directly in the platform. Aletiq is a key tool for EN9100, ISO9001 certifications and contributes to continuous improvement at Nimesis.
The applicable data (plans, instructions, procedures) are then disseminated directly to the workshops. Operators access it in 3 clicks and can provide information from the field.
Nimesis has dramatically accelerated its Time-to-Market and reduced its cycle times for new product development. Thanks to Aletiq project management, teams centralize data, define schedules and manage deliverables and milestones (KOM, PDR, CDR, MRR, QM, QM, TRR, QR).
