In summary

By using Aletiq, LISI Aerospace was able to:

✓ Save time in managing your technical data

✓ Ensure compliance with regulatory standards: EN 9100, ISO 9001...

✓ Create synergies and harmonize operating methods between sites

✓ Ensuring the digital continuity of data

✓ Accelerate cycle times

LISI is a global industrial group, specialized in the manufacture of assembly solutions and components with high added value for the aeronautical, automotive and medical sectors.

A partner of the world's biggest players, LISI innovates and invests in the research and development of tomorrow's products to meet the needs of its customers, especially in terms of quality, safety and performance.

An innovative player since its creation, the group has launched a major digital transformation with the aim of centralizing data and harmonizing business processes.

"Standardizing operating methods and improving collaboration between plants is a key driver of profitability."

Emmanuel NEILDEZ, CEO, LISI Aerospace

Operational challenges

The operational teams identified several issues hampering operational performance and innovation:

Operational inefficiencies in managing technical data

→ Losses of time in the management of technical data (research, collaboration, impact analyses...)

→ Heavy technical processes (signature circuits, technical modifications, dissemination of data in the workshop...)

A lack of traceability and risks of non-compliance

→ Limited traceability on changes in documents, data and product configurations

→ Risk of non-compliance of applicable data in the workshop

→ Need to secure data over the long term

A lack of collaboration between sites

→ Data sharing between complex sites (central R&D team, central QMS...)

→ Heterogeneous operating modes within the group

"We noticed that the teams were spending a lot of time on purely administrative tasks, using tools that weren't suited to the job, even though real-time traceability is something very important in the aerospace industry."

Léonard Minot, Methods Manager, LISI Aerospace

Setting up Aletiq

In 2021, LISI Aerospace called on Aletiq to deploy its Product Platform on its Parthenay site, which has 200 employees. 2 months later, the solution is operational and the teams adopt the solution (Design Office, Methods, Quality, Production...).

The group then decided to scale up and implement Aletiq across the Aerospace division: 20 sites, 10 countries. The global project lasts 18 months and allows more than 3000 users to benefit from a single source of truth for data, thanks to Aletiq operational support:

→ Definition of the target model with the various sites of the division

→ Implementation of interfaces with key tools: Infor M3, Infor XA, Solidworks, CATIA, SIRH...

→ Management of a central project team for the harmonization of operating methods between sites

→ On-site user training

→ Technical and operational support

"This great project allowed us to implement a group-wide PLM in record time."

Anne-Delphine Beaulieu, Director of Digital Transformation

The adoption of teams

Initially managed on local servers, CAD data was difficult to use: the teams had difficulty finding the files and tracking their evolutions. The use of the Solidworks and CATIA plugins has made it possible to considerably improve operating modes. LISI Aerospace has implemented efficient workflows to allow teams to collaborate on CAD and capitalize on knowledge.

To ensure configuration management, LISI Aerospace has centralized all the data (MBOM, tools, manufacturing range, instructions, procedures...) in a single tool. The interfaces between Aletiq and the ERPs made it possible to avoid double entries and to synchronize the data in real time. Operators thus have direct access to the data applicable in the workshop.

Data sharing between the division's sites makes it possible to ensure digital continuity for factories that share manufacturing ranges, and to harmonize operating methods to create synergies at the group level.

Finally, LISI Aerospace has automated the validation/signature circuits and exchange rate management. Operational teams (Design Office, Methods/Industrialization, Quality, etc.) can thus simply manage technical changes: demand, impact analysis, treatment, management of the rank of introduction, distribution...

"Aletiq significantly reduces the time spent on administrative tasks, and the teams can now focus on their core business. Added value is thus greatly increased."

Léonard Minot, Methods Manager, LISI Aerospace
