Manuthiers is a French contract manufacturer specializing in plastic injection molding and mold design. Since 1958, they have been serving a wide range of industries from food and beverage to aerospace. Their products are sold worldwide, including in France, the United States, Singapore, and Brazil.

Operational challenges

As a contract manufacturer, producing to customer specifications, Manuthiers operates in project mode: receiving customer drawings, making design adjustments, managing industrialization, designing molds and tooling, overseeing production and quality control.

Teams were initially using a wide range of tools to manage their data (SolidWorks, Magisoft, Topsolid, local servers). This resulted in fragmented data, siloed teams, and significant inefficiencies:

→ Injection mold and tooling design was complex, and managing SolidWorks CAD data on the local server was inefficient: sharing, revision indexing, BOMs, where-used tracking.

→ Tracking drawing revisions and applicable documents was unreliable.

Aletiq implementation

Aletiq was rolled out at Manuthiers using an agile approach, designed to deliver value quickly and support progressive adoption across teams.

By prioritizing which projects to migrate first, Manuthiers was able to transition active projects within just a few weeks. Historical projects were then migrated progressively, allowing the company to preserve and build on its institutional knowledge.

Engineering then refines the customer definition to allow the methods team to kick off the industrialization project. Designers responsible for injection mold and tooling design use the Aletiq x SolidWorks plugin to simplify CAD data management and sharing across the company (revisions, version indexing, check-in/check-out, where-used tracking).

The Magisoft ERP integration ensures data consistency and digital continuity. Applicable manufacturing data is seamlessly distributed to the shop floor through the synchronization of parts, routings, and production orders.
